Here’s a breakdown of the fines you could be hit with if you’re caught using or selling fireworks in San Jose.

$1,000 for a first violation • $2,000 for a second violation • $3,000 for a third violation •  The sale of fireworks may result in a fine of up to $50,000 plus jail time, depending on quantity.
